2 Years of Kibo

Kibo

--

I am writing this account to reflect upon our journey together over the last two years, where we at Trestle Labs have been trying to make Kibo app better and useful for you every single day. Read on to get a glimpse inside the building of Kibo App and where it stands today.

Kibo app started as a platform to provide digital books in an accessible form to our visually-impaired friends in 2017. Our team at Trestle Labs used to manually scan and digitize the entire course content and make it available in accessible format through the app.

Did you know: Kibo app was known as Kibo-Digital and Kitab, before being renamed as Kibo in 2019

Building on the rich feedback we had received from our users initially, we expanded the vision of the app from a simple content provider to providing an end-to-end solution platform to access any kind of content. And thus, over the last two years, Kibo has grown from a content app — to an OCR app — to an End-to-End content accessibility platform for our visually-impaired friends.

Since Kibo App’s launch in July 2019, Kibo has made 17 million+ pages worth of inaccessible content accessible for the users who have spent 36 million+ minutes of engagement time on the Kibo app.

With all the efforts that we have put in, we feel proud that we are now a family of 38,000+ users and growing, with all your love and support.

It gives us immense pleasure to see Kibo impacting 5000+ lives every single day and 21000+ lives every month!

We cannot thank you enough for all your love!

In case you don’t have the app installed, you can install it from this link.
